October is Starting with a Bang!
September was Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, but I'm starting off October with some BIG stuff, and I'm excited to share! Today I had the opportunity to participate in the World Wide Women Girls' Festival, which featured a bunch of inspiring presenters and exhibits all about girl empowerment. I was one of the main-stage speakers, and I had a great time talking to the audience about St. Jude, Juggling for Jude, and how all of us have the power to give back in some way. We had some technical difficulties, so I had to hold a laptop while I spoke, so I could see my notes, but I learned that there's always a way to manage, and being able to go on even when things aren't perfect is an important skill to have. I just love public speaking and am so grateful for the opportunity! Here are some photos from today. First thing I did was an interview with one of my favorite reporters through the years, Kate Rooney from Comcast.
Then I actually performed a dance with my dance company, totally separate from Juggling for Jude! That's me with the high kick on the left!
Next up was my speech. I had five minutes between my dance and my speech! It was a little stressful! You can view it on YouTube here. Just remember, some of the slides didn't match up with what was on my screen, but I think my message came across loudly and clearly. Yay! :)

Then, I raced back home to get ready for a state cup soccer game! I was tired, but I always love stepping on the field with my teammates.
It was an exhausting day, but I feel really excited about spreading the word about Juggling for Jude, so it's always worth it! Next up, I'm doing a juggling clinic as part of an incredible effort by In-Shape Health Clubs to raise $50,00-$100,000 for St. Jude during October! You read that right!!!!! I CANNOT believe it, but we are hoping it happens! Check out this article here for more info on the amazing work In-Shape is doing! I am so thankful!!!!I'll report back after this event, and meanwhile, if you want to donate, please just go HERE now! Every bit helps kids with cancer!Thank you!~Hollis
