Days 27, 28, 29, and 30: 1,085, 152, 462 Juggles. Plus: We have passed $10,000 for this summer and have a super-cool week ahead. LOTS TO DO!

It’s been another busy week!  Here are some exciting things that happened in the world of Juggling for Jude:

1.  I BROKE MY RECORD BY GETTING 1,085 consecutive juggles. No kidding! The video is here!

2. I juggled a bunch at a San Rafael Pacifics baseball game and raised $305 there, thanks to the generous fans!

3. I got right back to juggling even though that record wore me out!  I got 152 (my body was really tired!!!!) and then 462 the day after the baseball game.

4. I got confirmation that I’ll be heading to juggle with the San Jose Earthquakes Major League Soccer team THIS WEDNESDAY! How cool is that?

5. I also got confirmation that I’ll be juggling with campers at the amazing Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy this Thursday! This is a dream come true! I’m not sure who is more excited to meet Julie Foudy–me or my mom!  🙂

Please don’t forget to donate, because my goal is $40,000, so we have a long way to go!

Thanks for your support!

HOLY SMOKES!!!! NEW RECORD!!! I JUST GOT 1,085 CONSECUTIVE JUGGLES!!!!!

hollispost1085

I can’t believe I just smashed my goal for the summer with 1,085 consecutive juggles, alternating feet!  I pushed through a lot of pain and I was tired, but it was so worth it. I hope this leads to more donations! Just go here to save the life of a child with cancer!

VIDEO PROOF OF MY NEW RECORD IS HERE!  It’s 11 minutes and 24 seconds long!!!!!!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Days 23, 24, and 25: 167, 223, and THOUSANDS of JUGGLES. PLUS: IT’S ALWAYS GOOD TO GET OUT AND ENJOY SOME DOWN TIME AFTER A HARD MORNING OF JUGGLING!

hollishandstandbeachDoing a fundraiser is hard work. I could never do it myself. My whole family is involved. I sometimes get really tired and don’t want to juggle, but I am always reminded of the kids at St. Jude, and I have to push through.  Enjoying the beach is a great way for me to relax after juggling!

I’ve been super busy juggling at different events lately. I’m super excited about some upcoming events where I’ll be juggling and raising money for Juggling for Jude and awareness about my fundraiser. I’ll be juggling at these places in the next week:

~San Rafael Pacifics baseball game

~San Jose Earthquakes major league soccer practice

~Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy community service day

I’m so thankful for these amazing opportunities, and I know they will allow me to raise more money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!  Just yesterday, I juggled thousands of times for the golfers at the Have a Ball Golf Tournament in Danville, which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer-related causes. It was awesome to be a part of it, even though it was super hot!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONATE HERE.  If we all chip in, we can make a difference for the kids at St. Jude and can help the doctors and scientists find a cure for cancer once and for all!

Here’s the video of day 24 (not my best, but every juggle counts!) 167 juggles.

On day 25, I got 223 juggles.

And then at the tournament, I finished every challenge the golfers gave me, and I raised $1,015, thanks to the generous golfers!

Thanks for your support!

Days 20, 21, and 22: 360, 137, and 102 Juggles. Plus, I was a half-time performer at a Women’s Soccer Game and the Donations are Coming in Big Time Right Now!

HOllisatNORTHBAYWAVE

Not all days are good days. Sometimes it’s frustrating to go out and try and try and just not have a good juggling day. Yesterday and today were two of those days. I tried but just couldn’t get as many juggles as I wanted. But my family was with me, and then I got ice cream, and I remember that what matters is the effort.  Also what matters is that donations for the kids at St. Jude Children’s Hospital come in, and that’s really been picking up, so thank you to everyone who has donated!!! I hope you’ll donate if you haven’t already. Just like every juggle I try for makes a difference, every dollar donated can help save a life! Just CLICK HERE!

Thanks to the North Bay Wave women’s soccer team and All Season Soccer in San Rafael for allowing me to juggle at half time of their final game of the summer season! I felt very proud as I juggled in front of everyone. It was windy, and I was under pressure, but I managed to get 360 juggles in a row, and I got a bunch of money for St. Jude. This is the only time my juggle wasn’t recorded on video, but I promise I did it! 🙂

I also met a freestyle soccer player who wants to do a video with me, so stay tuned for that!

And in case you’re keeping track:

I got 137 juggles yesterday and today I got 102.

Tomorrow will be a better day–I can feel it!

Thanks for your support!

Days 18 and 19: 327 and 262 Juggles. Plus Some Important Facts about St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital that Might Make You Want to Donate!

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 3.51.49 PMAs you know if you’ve checked out my website, I am doing all of this soccer juggling for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It’s an amazing place where kids with cancer are treated and their families never have to pay a single penny for their care. Plus the scientists and doctors at St. Jude are working hard to cure cancer forever!  Here’s a great fact from the St. Jude website about the progress St. Jude is making in the fight against cancer:

“Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since it opened 50 years ago. And we are working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.”

And I won’t stop juggling till I reach my goal of $40,000 for the summer. Please, please, please take 45 seconds and donate now. Every dollar helps the mission at St. Jude!

Hollisjugglephoto

On day 19 I got 327 juggles and on Day 18 I got 262 juggles. I’m working on keeping the ball lower and closer to my feet. It’s a little hard right now, but in the long run it’s going to make juggling much easier for me. I’m excited to try for a new record one of these days!  It’s all for the kids at St. Jude, who are working way harder than I am!

PLEASE DONATE NOW!

Thanks for your support!

Days 15 and 16: 196 and 271 Juggles. Plus: Wow, it’s Been a Super Busy week Around Here!!!

Comcastsportsnetpic What a week so far!  First it was juggling in the July 4th parade and getting a great donation for that. Then, it was watching the US Women’s National Team beating Japan in the World Cup Finals!  Then it was this amazing news story about Juggling for Jude on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

And then I had my first session with my friend, Brianna, and a PROFESSIONAL soccer player as a coach, which was so fun (Tristan Bowen is awesome)!

HollisandTristanDay 15 was a tough day because it was at the end of my Comcast shoot, and my legs were still juggled out after the parade (I think I juggled a million times that day!), but I got 196. Then on day 16, today, I juggled 271 times in a parking lot of a burger shop while I was waiting for my food. It was a super busy day and that was my only chance to do it on video. I almost got run over, as you can see at the end of that video! Sort of funny but also crazy! When you’re juggling to save kids with cancer, being run over is ALMOST worth the risk! 🙂

PLEASE DONATE TO ST. JUDE HERE!  IT ONLY TAKES 45 SECONDS AND CAN SAVE A LIFE!!!! We have now passed the $5,000 mark for summer of 2015, but my goal is $40,000, so there’s lots of donating to be done!!!!

Thanks for your support!

Day 13: I THINK I JUGGLED A MILLION TIMES TODAY IN MY TOWN’S JULY 4TH PARADE!!! PLUS, I GOT AN AMAZING DONATION AT THE END! HAPPY 4TH!

HOllisJugglingParadeHollisCHeerSFHollisCHeerSFCheck

Today was amazing! I had a Juggling for Jude entry in the Corte Madera/Larkspur parade.  I juggled for more than two hours while walking the parade route. It was hot, and I was really tired at the end, but I knew that juggling would attract attention to Juggling for Jude and get more money at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! After the parade, an amazing thing happened. Cheer SF, the only organization allowed to collect donations along the parade route, presented me with a giant check to St. Jude in the amount of $500!!!!!   I almost cried when they presented it to me!  I felt so proud and happy for the kids at St. Jude.

I hope you will donate today, too!  I am working hard and know that the doctors and scientists at St. Jude are, too. Please donate here.  Every dollar helps!

Thank you, and Happy 4th of July!

~Hollis

PS I got 216 juggles yesterday. Not my best, but every juggle helps! 🙂

DAYS 9 and 10: 347 and 207 JUGGLES. Plus my FIRST BIG MEDIA EXPOSURE OF SUMMER, 2015: CBS SAN FRANCISCO NEWS!

hollisandvernglenn

That’s me and Vernon Glenn, KPIX5 (CBS San Francisco) sports guy!  He was so nice to take an interest in Juggling for Jude, and he did a fabulous story on the news last night. It was on right after the US Women’s team beat Germany to advance to the finals, so it was such a great night for me and soccer, and hopefully for St. Jude and the kids there with cancer!  You can watch the video from the KPIX news show here:

Meanwhile, my juggles for yesterday were 347 and the day before I got 207.  I always post video proof! 🙂

I’m super excited to keep up the juggling, even though sometimes it’s really hard work.  The past few days after I got my record of 660 were hard to motivate, but I always feel like the kids at St. Jude are counting on me, so I do as many as I can!  PLEASE DONATE IF YOU CAN!!!! It takes about 45 seconds!
