HERE ARE SOME AWARDS I’M SO HONORED TO HAVE RECEIVED:
February, 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community California State Honoree! It is a huge honor to be one of two honorees from California, and it means I get to go to Washington DC with the 101 other state honorees from around the country for a few days of an amazing program and a chance to become a national honoree. Thank you, Prudential!
January, 2019 President’s Volunteer Service Award: Gold. I was recognized by the President of the United States for exemplary dedication to service and giving back, at the gold level for accumulating more than 100 hours of volunteer service in 2018. I plan to keep up my work again in 2019!
January, 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Award Distinguished Finalist. I was honored in a group of nine young people from California for my work for St. Jude and childhood cancer.
October, 2018 St. Jude Northern CA honored me as the Bay Area St. Jude Ambassador award at the 2018 Miracles on the Bay Gala. I gave a speech about my work and about St. Jude. You can read more about it HERE.
April, 2018 Playing for Change” by Red Bull and 60Second Docs. I was honored to be the fifth in a series of stories about women breaking barriers and making change in the world of soccer.
February, 2018. US SOCCER 2018 SHEBELIEVES HERO AWARD. I was nominated for this award by Sophie, a local 9-year-old girl who had attended one of my Juggling for Jude soccer clinics. A panel of 7 former US Women’s National Team players narrowed down nominations to the final four. The public voted for their favorite nominee, and I earned 44% of the vote! I was so honored to have been nominated and even more excited to have been voted as SheBelieves Hero!
June, 2017. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 2017 Jerry Nicholson Award. I accepted this award at the gala celebrating the 60th anniversary of ALSAC, the fundraising arm of St. Jude. This award was especially meaningful, as it is typically given to a St. Jude patient who raises money for the hospital. You can watch my acceptance speech HERE.
December, 2014. Sports Feel Good Stories Story of the Year. I was voted by the website followers as the recipient of this award, and when I won, I donated the $500 prize to St. Jude! Yay!
