I’ve been lucky enough to get to speak to a bunch of schools lately and even to present to a few classes at my own school. When I speak to these groups of kids from kindergarten through eighth grade, I tell my story, the St. Jude story, and then give my tips for them to turn something they love into a way to give back. Each time I present, I get more inspired to do more, because I see the impact my work can have on other people. Last week when I spoke at St. Patrick school, a number of parents came up to me after and cried as they told me how meaningful my talk was and how inspired their kids were. It’s pretty cool!
I know public speaking can be hard for a lot of people. It still can be for me sometimes, too. But mostly I LOVE it, and I’m always so grateful for the opportunity to share my story and encourage other kids to give back. Plus, it usually ends up leading to a donation or two for kids with cancer at St. Jude, and THAT is what it’s all about!
Thank you for your support!
