MY FIRST PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PENNY PROJECT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
As I wrote in a recent blog on this topic, St. Jude Founder Danny Thomas famously said: “I’d rather have a million people give me one dollar than one person give me a million. That way, you’ve got a million people involved.”
THE PENNY PROJECT was created based on this same notion, in order to support my efforts for St. Jude. In partnership with two of my soccer mentors, Kierra Scalercio (my former coach), and Louise Arseneault, an advocate for girls and women in sports, we ran a 30-minute soccer-juggling extravaganza in San Jose and with players on Zoom around the country. These kids gave it their all, knowing that every juggle meant more money for kids with cancer. I’m always in awe and inspired when people who don’t even know me join me for a greater purpose.
After the juggling, I had the pleasure of doing what I love most: speaking to the players and their parents about how we can all find something we want to change in the world and access our personal resources to forge an impact. I also spoke about developing purpose in life, and how that drives me every day and can also drive them. It’s never too early to start finding a path to purpose!
We don’t have a final tally yet, but the event raised a few thousand dollars for St. Jude! I’m grateful to all of the players and parents who spent their Sunday morning with me to make a difference for kids with cancer.
If you’d like to support my partnership with the PENNY PROJECT without participating in the juggling, you can DONATE any time! Your money supports St. Jude in the global fight against childhood cancer.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Hollis
