ST. JUDE BAY AREA LUNCHEON FILLED WITH INSPIRATION!

Last week, I was honored to attend a special lunch with some of the Bay Area’s most devoted St. Jude donors, many of whom are leaving their estates to St. Jude. Some shared memories of Danny and Marlo Thomas, and one donor even brought an old photo of Danny in his prime (pictured below). A highlight for me was hearing from Erika (pictured left), who was treated at St. Jude at the age of 12 for cancer that had a 50% survival rate at the time. Erika shared many touching memories of St. Jude friends who had sadly passed away during her time at the hospital. As a survivor, Erika is now a leader in the survivorship program at St. Jude. She is amazing!

As I get older, I’m finding it increasingly important to recognize not only the various avenues for giving, but also the many ways to educate yourself and others about the importance of philanthropy. Fostering intergenerational connections surrounding philanthropic giving is critical; I learned so much this week from older generations, and I hope to pass on their wisdom and guidance to as many peers in my generation as possible.

As always, you can donate to St. Jude here, to help give hope to families facing childhood cancer.

Thank you for your support!
